Today in the Shop

The interesting project today is a maple dog pod.  I start with thin layers of veneer and plywood . . .

Apply glue to all the layers, and strap it to the form . . .

Load it all into a vacuum bag. . .

And 6-8 hours later I have the basic form.  There is a lot that can go wrong, but this one turned out perfectly.  While it looks like a pod already, there is still a ton of work to be completed.  The legs are a more complicated procedure - one that occurs over several pressings.  They should be ready later today.
